TQ HPR50 / HPR60 eMTBs
TQ’s HPR motors use a compact harmonic pin-ring transmission that makes them small, light and very quiet — the reason they are popular on lightweight eMTBs.

About the TQ HPR50 / HPR60
TQ's HPR motors are compact light-assist mid-drives that use a harmonic pin-ring transmission instead of conventional gear stages. The HPR50 appeared in 2022 and became a common choice for lightweight e-MTBs; the HPR60 followed in June 2025.
The HPR60 raises output to 60 Nm and 350 W peak (from 50 Nm on the HPR50) while keeping almost the same size and mounting points. TQ added cooling fins to sustain output and addressed overheating concerns of the earlier unit.
Batteries are offered in 290, 360 and 580 Wh, plus a 160 Wh range extender; the 290 Wh pack limits HPR60 output to 250 W. Three modes (Eco, Mid, High) can be tuned via the TQ app, and the system has a top-tube display and small bar remote.
HPR motors suit riders who want a bike that rides close to a non-assisted trail bike, with low noise and low weight. They are fitted to light e-MTBs from brands such as Trek, Yeti, Simplon and others.
