About the Bosch Performance Line CX Race

The Performance Line CX Race Limited Edition is a lightweight, race-focused version of Bosch's Gen 4 CX motor, presented in September 2022. It saves about 250 g over the standard CX of that generation, with Bosch quoting 2.75 kg.

It delivers 85 Nm and 600 W peak, with a Race mode tuned for immediate acceleration out of corners and Extended Boost for technical climbs. Bosch's free Performance Upgrade 2.0 in 2026 raised maximum support to 600% up to 15 km/h, but torque remains 85 Nm.

The CX Race runs on the Bosch smart system and uses the same batteries, displays, remotes and eBike Flow app as other smart-system motors.

It has been specified on race-oriented enduro e-MTBs. Since the arrival of the CX Gen 5 updates and the CX-R, it is no longer Bosch's most powerful option, but it remains among the lighter full-power Bosch drives.
