About the Giant SyncDrive

SyncDrive is Giant's own family of e-bike drive units, used on Giant and Liv bikes. For 2026-2027 the range includes the SyncDrive Pro 4 for premium trail e-MTBs, the Pro 3X for the Stance E+, and the Sport 3 for trekking and all-round bikes.

The Pro 4, introduced in October 2026 with the 2027 Trance Advanced E+ and Liv Intrigue Advanced E+, runs on a 48 V platform and delivers 120 Nm and 850 W peak with up to 500% support. Giant quotes 2.4 kg, making it its lightest motor. Full torque is available immediately, and full power needs about 90 rpm.

The Pro 4 system uses EnergyPak Smart batteries of 840 Wh or 560 Wh and an optional EnergyPak Plus 280 Wh range extender. It adds traction control that reduces support when rear-wheel slip is detected, a wireless Ergo 5 remote, a top-tube display and the RideControl app.

The Pro 3X (100 Nm, 800 W, 2.6 kg) and Sport 3 (85 Nm, 2.8 kg) cover lower price points. SyncDrive suits riders choosing a Giant or Liv bike who want a fully integrated system.
