Overview
The Trek Fuel+ EX 8 Gen 2 (£5,000) is the entry build of the Fuel+ EX: alloy frame, TQ HPR60 motor with 580 Wh, Fox Rhythm 36 fork, Fox Float X shock, SRAM Eagle 70 and SRAM DB 8 4-piston hydraulic disc brakes.
The Fuel+ Gen 2 is Trek's mid-power trail e-MTB: TQ's HPR60 motor (60 Nm, 350 W peak) with a removable 580 Wh battery, in three configurations — EX (145 mm rear / 150 mm fork, mixed wheels), MX (150 mm rear, mixed wheels) and LX (160 mm rear / 170 mm fork, 29-inch wheels).
Most builds use an OCLV Mountain Carbon frame (the EX 8 is aluminium) with an angle-adjust headset, adjustable leverage rate and interchangeable rocker links and lower shock mount.
