Avinox launched its second-generation drive units, the M2S and M2, on 9 April 2026 – and more than 60 bike brands had them ready at launch. Half a year later the list of eMTBs with the Avinox M2 and M2S motor is long and keeps growing. This guide collects every Avinox M2/M2S eMTB in our catalog – 97 builds in 28 model families from 16 brands – with motor version, battery, travel, claimed weight and price, plus the bikes we haven't added yet.
Avinox M2 vs M2S: what's the difference?
The M2S is the flagship. Avinox quotes 150 Nm peak torque, 130 Nm continuous torque and a peak power limit of 1,500 W, with flat-wire windings, extra cooling fins, a temperature sensor and a dual-gear meshing design against gear play and kickback noise. It weighs about 2.59 kg. Note that several bike brands list their M2S models with 1,300 W peak, so check the individual bike.
The M2 is the more affordable version: 125 Nm peak torque, 1,100 W peak power, helical gears and about 2.65 kg. Some brands use it on entry builds of the same frame – Propain, for example, offers the M2S as a €249 upgrade over the M2 on the Ekano.
Both run the same batteries and displays, and Avinox says the new motors, batteries and touchscreens are interchangeable with the previous generation. Battery options are the integrated FP700 (700 Wh, 3.18 kg), Avinox's first removable packs RS800 (800 Wh, about 4 kg) and RS600 (600 Wh, 2.96 kg, can also be mounted externally as a second battery), plus the integrated 800 Wh pack that most brands still use.
