Overview

Maxxis Assegai: Greg Minnaar's maximum-grip trail, enduro and DH tyre in 27.5"/29" × 2.50–2.60", with E50 e-bike-rated DH-casing versions.

The Assegai is Greg Minnaar's signature tyre and Maxxis' maximum-grip gravity tread. Its tall, well-supported knobs give tenacious, predictable grip across the whole profile at any lean angle, and it can be run front and rear or as a front tyre paired with a faster-rolling rear.

Maxxis offers it in 27.5" and 29" with 2.50" and 2.60" widths, in Dual, MaxxTerra and 3C MaxxGrip compounds and EXO, EXO+, DoubleDown, Downhill and the new DH casing. Selected Downhill-casing versions carry the E50 e-bike rating, and Maxxis names 3C MaxxGrip with DoubleDown or Downhill casing as its pick for enduro racing and e-bikes.
