Overview

Maxxis Shorty: the mid-spike for soft, loose and wet trails, in 27.5"/29" × 2.40" with EXO, DoubleDown or Downhill casing.

Maxxis redesigned the Shorty mid-spike in 2021, using data and feedback from its World Cup downhill and EWS athletes. The new knob layout improves wet traction, cornering and mud shedding, and the narrower 2.40" casing gives more frame and fork clearance in sloppy conditions and saves weight.

It is made for soft terrain, from dry and loose to wet and sloppy, and works front and rear. It comes in 27.5" and 29" × 2.40", in 3C MaxxTerra or 3C MaxxGrip, with EXO, DoubleDown or Downhill casing.
