Overview

The latest Maven Ultimate is SRAM's flagship Extreme Duty 4-piston brake with 18 mm pistons, re-designed SwingLink, carbon lever blade and titanium hardware – €325 per brake.

Maven is SRAM's Extreme Duty brake family – according to SRAM, the benchmark of power for modern riders on ever-more demanding terrain, with a stiff 4-bolt, 4-piston caliper that manages heat so the last corner feels like the first. SRAM says Maven is easily tuneable across gravity, E-MTB, enduro and trail bikes.

SRAM groups its mountain brakes into Heavy Duty (four-piston brakes with set-it-and-forget-it simplicity: Motive and DB) and Extreme Duty (Maven, the most progressive power for gravity and heavy braking). All use SRAM's proprietary seals with mineral oil co-developed with Maxima, and work with 160, 180, 200 and 220 mm rotors in 6-bolt and Centerlock.

  • Four 18 mm pistons for best-in-class power
  • Re-designed SwingLink lever for smooth power delivery
  • Carbon lever blade and titanium hardware
  • Tool-free reach and contact point adjust
  • SRAM lists E-MTB among its tuneable applications
