Overview
Magura's classic forged 4-piston MT7 PRO with 10/17 mm pistons, Carbotecture SL master and HC lever; 255 g, RRP 226.90 EUR per brake.
The MT7 PRO is Magura's long-standing 4-piston gravity and trail brake, raced to DH world championship titles and used by riders such as Fabio Wibmer and Danny MacAskill. Its one-piece caliper is forged under 1000 tonnes of pressure for stiffness, and four individual brake pads sit on four 17 mm pistons, driven by a 10 mm radial master piston that moves perpendicular to the handlebar.
The master is made from Carbotecture SL (polymer with embedded carbon fibre), it ships with the 1-finger HC lever with toolless reach adjust, and riders can choose between five lever shapes, three pad compounds and optional 40/90-degree master banjos. Magura lists E-MTB among its fields of application; with the 10 mm master piston the MT7 is compatible with the Bosch ABS Race mode.
