Overview
Magura's CNC-machined 4-piston flagship brake with 12/19 mm pistons, 310 g per brake and E-MTB in its field of application; RRP 699.90 EUR per set (two brakes).
The RACE PRO is Magura's new flagship disc brake: master and one-piece forged caliper are both CNC-machined from aluminium after forging, which Magura says combines downhill power with cross-country weight. It uses the GUSTAV's 12 mm master piston and four 19 mm caliper pistons for a lower hydraulic pressure level and a clearly defined bite point, plus a ball-bearing lever pivot and a constant leverage ratio across the lever throw.
Magura claims 16% more braking power than the GUSTAV PRO and 20% less lever flex than the MT7, at 310 g per brake (with 1 m hose). It features the EASY LINK hose coupling with a sealed valve at the master, a bleed valve with a dead-end-free oil channel, and an integrated Shiftmix interface.
