Overview

Trickstuff Maxima: four-piston (16/17 mm) hydraulic brake built for maximum power on the steepest, roughest trails. From 540 g per set and from €1,300 per set (MSRP).

The Maxima is Trickstuff's most powerful brake, developed for the steepest and roughest tracks with the goal of pushing the boundaries of braking power and controllability. A 9 mm pump piston drives four 16/17 mm hollow stainless-steel caliper pistons, and a knee-lever effect in the lever geometry creates an exceptionally high mechanical ratio that minimises the finger force needed.

The 7075 aluminium CNC-milled calipers with preloaded steel yoke bolts and Goodridge steel-braided or Kevlar hoses give a very stiff overall system, while the smooth, ball-bearing lever mechanism keeps the bite point predictable and the power finely modulated. It runs Bionol mineral-based fluid and the 730 POWER+ pad, which is also compatible with Hope Tech V4.

  • Four 16/17 mm hollow stainless-steel pistons driven by a 9 mm pump piston
  • Knee-lever lever geometry for a very high mechanical ratio and low finger force
  • CNC-milled 7075 aluminium calipers with preloaded steel yoke bolts
  • Choice of Kevlar or Goodridge steel-braided hoses (with swivel fittings)
  • Takes discs up to 2.30 mm thick; 730 POWER+ pads (Hope Tech V4 compatible)
