Aventon has opened orders for the [Aventon Current LTD](https://emtbmag.com/bikes/aventon-current-ltd), a limited edition of the brand's first full-suspension eMTB. Only 99 bikes will be built worldwide, each with its own number on the frame and finished in a colour Aventon calls Magma. The company describes the LTD as a brand statement rather than a volume model, with every parts choice made for performance over cost.
Aventon Current LTD: same platform, top-shelf kit
The LTD uses the Current frame: a carbon front triangle with a hydroformed 6061 aluminium rear end, 29" wheels and four sizes from S to XL. Power comes from Aventon's own Ultro X mid-drive motor (36 V). It is rated at 110 Nm and 750 W, and a Boost mode lifts that to 120 Nm and 850 W for up to 60 seconds. The integrated battery holds 800 Wh, and Aventon quotes a range of up to 168 km (105 miles). A fast charger is included and, according to the brand, refills the pack from 0 to 99 % in under two hours.
Where the LTD stands apart from the regular Current models is the parts list. Suspension is a 150 mm RockShox Lyrik Ultimate fork and a RockShox Super Deluxe Ultimate shock with 140 mm of rear travel. Braking is handled by SRAM Maven Ultimate brakes with 200 mm SRAM rotors, and shifting by wireless SRAM X0 Eagle AXS Transmission. A RockShox Reverb AXS dropper and a Truvativ Descendant carbon handlebar complete the cockpit.
Connected features
Like the rest of the range, the LTD uses Aventon's control unit with a touchscreen display in the top tube. It adds GPS tracking, geofencing and theft alerts, adjustable assist levels, a wheel-lift control and jump tracking, linked by 4G and Bluetooth. Eight years of these connectivity features are included in the price.
Price and how it compares
The Current LTD costs €7,999 in Germany, and pre-orders opened on October 13, 2026. That puts it well above the rest of the Current family, which Aventon lists at €5,499 (EXP), €3,999 (ADV) and €3,499 (REC). In the US the bike is a Class 1 eMTB. Full specs and geometry are on our Current LTD catalog page, and all models on the Aventon brand page.
With its own motor and a 23 kg claimed weight, the Current LTD sits among full-power trail bikes with 140–150 mm of travel. For comparison, see other recent launches such as the Giant Trance Advanced E+ with a 120 Nm motor.
