Overview
The Intend Essential is the brand's entry-level 35 mm upside-down enduro fork, 150–170 mm, 2150 g, 15 or 20 mm axle; €1,599 incl. VAT.
The Essential is Intend's entry-level upside-down all-mountain/enduro fork, built in single batches of 85 to keep the price down. It uses a cerakoted BCT crown and the enduro-proven steerer and upper legs of the bigger forks, with 150/160/170 mm travel options.
Compared with the top-line Originals and Blackline forks it uses a simpler air spring (travel change requires disassembly; progression via a three-position volume spacer) and a semi-open-bath version of the same damping parts. Every Intend fork is designed, engineered and tested in Freiburg, Germany, and assembled by hand in-house one at a time; Intend says bushings are calibrated to each tube, crowns are bonded to prevent creaking and each fork is aligned individually.
