Overview

The Focus SAM 9 (€7,199) is the top build of the SAM: Bosch Performance Line CX (85 Nm) with 600 Wh, RockShox ZEB Ultimate fork, RockShox Vivid Ultimate shock, SRAM Eagle 90 and SRAM Maven SLV brakes. Claimed weight is 26.3 kg.

The SAM is Focus's aluminium e-enduro bike, with F.O.L.D. kinematics designed around coil shocks: 165 mm of rear travel, a 170 mm fork with 38 mm stanchions, mullet wheels (29-inch front, 27.5-inch rear), downhill-casing tyres and 220 mm brake rotors.

An angle-adjustable headset (63.5° or 64.5°) and a chainstay flip chip (441 or 448 mm) adjust the geometry. Both builds run the Bosch Performance Line CX (85 Nm, 120 Nm via app update) with a 600 or 800 Wh battery; claimed weights are 26.0 kg (SAM 8) and 26.3 kg (SAM 9) with 600 Wh, size M.
