The Portes du Soleil links 12 resorts across France and Switzerland — among them Châtel, Morzine, Avoriaz and Les Gets — and promotes what it calls Europe's largest cross-border e-bike network.

The e-bike network

There are 38 dedicated e-bike routes covering 300–350 km, 34 free Bosch charging points (some solar-powered) and 25 rental shops offering e-bikes. Les Gets alone has about 60 km of signposted e-bike routes in five circuits and four charging points. The classic Portes du Soleil MTB tour covers about 80 km through both countries.

Bike parks and lifts

The region is also famous for its lift-served bike parks. Châtel has 20 downhill trails totalling 49 km (3 green, 4 blue, 4 red, 9 black) and three MTB lifts. In 2026 the Châtel lifts run daily from 26 June to 13 September, with weekend pre-openings in mid-June; the Avoriaz bike park and the Super Morzine gondola run from 12 June to 13 September. We did not find an official rule on e-bikes on the lifts — Les Gets suggests buying a Portes du Soleil pass to use the lifts on e-bike rides.
