Overview
Hope Carbon Crankset: foam-core T700 carbon trail cranks on a 30 mm axle, 155-170 mm, from 422 g, £575 UK RRP.
Hope's Carbon Crankset uses a unique construction method with T700 fibres, a foam core and very small aluminium inserts to keep weight down, with a lay-up tuned to balance ride feel, stiffness and isolation from trail chatter. A 1K outer fabric adds abrasion resistance.
It shares the self-extracting axle/arm interface and 30 mm 7075 aluminium axle with the EVO crank, takes direct-mount spiderless chainrings and is configurable for 52 or 55 mm chainlines. Hope recommends it for trail and all-mountain use.
