Saalbach Hinterglemm sells itself as a "Home of Lässig" bike region, and for e-bike riders it is one of the easiest places in the Alps to plan a trip. The tourist board says 400 km of mountain-bike tracks are open to e-bikers, and the regional 2026 bike media kit states that all trails are accessible on an e-bike.

Lifts and the JOKER CARD

The bike area spans Saalbach Hinterglemm, Leogang and Fieberbrunn, with nine lifts on seven mountains and more than 120 km of lines and trails. In Saalbach Hinterglemm alone, six cable cars carry bikes. For the 2026 season the Saalbach lifts opened on 22 May. Guests with the JOKER CARD (issued by partner hotels) get two free bike transports per day and 20% off bike tickets bought on site.

Note for 2026: the Reiterkogel cable car is being modernised, and the BlueLine and ProLine are closed during the works.

Charging on the mountain

Ten huts offer free e-bike charging — Rosswaldhütte, Westgipfelhütte, Reiteralm, Hexenhäusl, SonnAlm, Panorama Alm, Spielberghaus, Asteralm, Breitfussalm and Hacklberg Alm. You need your own charger cable. According to the tourist board, a battery reaches about 80% in 45 minutes, and cold weather can cut capacity by 20–30%.

Trail rules for e-bikers

E-bikes follow the same trail rules and "fair play" as everyone else, and riding a trail uphill is a no-go. Beginners have the Learn to Ride Park and the 12er Learn to Ride Area.

Events

The GlemmRide Bike Festival runs in July (9–12 July 2026), and an E-Bike Marathon is part of the World Games of Mountainbiking in September.
